Houston, We Have a Problem. There’s Not Enough Women on this Spaceship!

The United Nations declared February 11 “International Day of Women and Girls in Science Day” February 11 is a day designed to celebrate women of science; past and present. The UN says gender equality and science are stated “vital” for the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Celebrating women and supporting minorities has long been a part of my work, but when The UN declared 11 February as the International Day, my “she-nerd” could not be contained.
