Hello everyone, I want to share my story about how I started earning through Bybit's crypto exchange affiliate program and built a passive income.

I will tell you where I started, what results I achieved, what mistakes I made, and which hypotheses proved most successful. And most importantly, how you can repeat my path and create an additional source of income in crypto.

And yes, starting right now is not too late, on the contrary, it's the best time!

My story:

I started developing the Bybit exchange affiliate at the end of 2023. It was not a good decision at the time; the entire crypto market was in decline. We were going through a bearish phase, a period when interest in crypto was low and most investors were on the sidelines.

My logic was simple: while the bear market was going on, I would create as much content as possible, and when the bull market started, a wave of audience would come to it, that's when I would make money.

However, this turned out to be a mistake. The sphere works differently: it is better to create content during the market's active phase, when attention to cryptocurrencies is growing, new users are emerging, and crypto is being discussed everywhere, as it is now.

That's why it's not too late to start now —on the contrary, it's on time! Market capitalization is growing, Bitcoin is setting new highs, and crypto attention is at its peak again.

Attracting new users to exchanges has become much easier: a large number of newcomers are entering the market, unlike at the end of 2023, when prices were at the bottom, news was negative, and there was almost no enthusiasm.

Over about 2 years of participation in the affiliate program, I earned $12,250. In the peak month, income totaled $1,573, and the average monthly income was about $510.

Let me emphasize an important point: initially, I created content mainly for the Russian-speaking audience. However, it is neither the most solvent nor the widest. The English-speaking audience, on average, brings much more income, and its potential reach and number of views are much higher. That was one of my mistakes—it was too late to start working with the English-speaking segment.

In fact, my numbers are weak; it was possible to achieve results several times higher. It's just that I was on an uncharted path and made a lot of mistakes.

In this guide, I will share my experience to help you make fewer mistakes and move faster from the start!

Now look at the stats: I invited 709 people, of which only 161 started trading. In the end, each active user brought in an average of $76 and will continue to bring in income further, on a full passive basis.

How I attracted referrals to Bybit

I tested many hypotheses: I attracted users through my own website about cryptocurrency, and I wrote articles and news pieces mentioning exchanges. I made videos on YouTube and other platforms, both long-format and short. Had a personal blog about crypto in social networks. Published useful materials on external sites and forums where discussion of cryptocurrencies and trading is allowed. Even released a free course for beginners, sharing links and guides to exchanges. Tested content in different languages.

And out of all of this, the most effective for me in terms of conversions were the educational YouTube videos about exchanges.

Also, the most popular YouTube videos about cryptocurrency are training and beginner guides.

I have tried many formats on YouTube: crypto project and exchange reviews, news, tutorials, podcast translations, explanations of crypto terms for beginners, and various TOPs and compilations.

In practice, it is easiest to gain extensive views on hot topics—trending news or translations of current podcasts.

However, even with competent mentions of crypto exchanges, such videos still have a very low conversion rate. The reason is simple: this is a cold audience that came just to watch the content, not to register on the exchange.

Therefore, it is much more effective to make videos aimed at “hot” users—those who are already looking for where and how to start trading. For example:

To find ideas, you can analyze your competitors—see which topics they are gaining views on and adapt them to your own.

An example of conversions from my observations:

Although I made more than 100 videos, most of them It didn't work—I realized it too late. Some videos gained 10-20k views but mainly attracted cold audiences, resulting in very few new registrations on exchanges.

But the videos aimed at a hot audience were a minority, and so far, they have not seen a significant increase in views. But such videos live a long time; they slowly gain an audience and, even after 2 years, continue to bring in views and new registrations on exchanges.

There is another interesting point. If you create content specifically about trading on crypto exchanges, this audience is usually the most valuable to partners. These users actively and regularly trade, make many transactions, and thus generate stable commissions. Therefore, channels that focus on trading content usually generate the most profit.

In fact, if your video about the exchange, designed for a "hot" audience, gains good views —for example, 100,000 —and you intelligently build conversion to registration, then just one video can bring in 500 to 1,500 referrals. This is already an income of $500-1000 per month.

Now imagine what will happen if the video collects:

These are absolutely real and even slightly underestimated figures. I saw an example of a person who had only one big video shot, and his income was 2-3 times higher than in the above example. Of course, results can vary; it all depends on the type of content, the audience, and the signup conversion rate.

Just a couple of successful videos can bring hundreds of thousands of dollars in passive income in a few years! I haven't managed to make such an outstanding video yet, but there are already many examples on YouTube (we've shown some of them in the screenshots above). That means we can do it! The main thing is to start, stay consistent, don't stop, and progress.

What are the earnings based on?

It's simple, you get a percentage of the commissions paid by your invited users for trading on the crypto exchange.

Most often, this percentage is accrued indefinitely. That is, if the trader you attracted continues to trade actively, you will receive a commission even after five consecutive years and beyond, so in fact it can be turned into passive income if you attract a sufficient number of regularly trading users.

It is also beneficial for the user to register through your affiliate link, as it offers the best conditions from the start. What are the earnings based on?

For example, some exchanges offer bonuses for first-time deposits and trading volume. And for others, you can share part of your commission: let's say your rate is 20% of the user's commissions, and you decide to give them a 10% lifetime discount on the exchange's commission. Then only the remaining 10% of commissions will be earned by you.

On Bybit, the affiliate rate can reach 35% of all commissions—really high compared to other exchanges! (By the way, this percentage can be increased to 50% in the future if your results are good enough.)

All commission income is yours alone, as Bybit has no function to share the percentage with an invited user in the form of a discount. And new users will receive an exclusive promo with bonuses for deposit and trading volume.

Earnings are credited to the affiliate cabinet daily, mainly in USDT, BTC, and ETH (which we can immediately withdraw to the balance of our Bybit account).

Next, let's talk about how to become an affiliate exchange. It's actually not as hard as you think.

How to become a Bybit exchange partner and start earning?

In fact, there is very little information on the internet about making money from crypto exchange affiliate programs, especially with open statistics, explanations, and practical advice. When I was starting out, I couldn't find any information or open statistics on earnings or related numbers.

Therefore, if you are interested, I would be grateful if you became a partner of the exchange, indicating my promo code “42957”. From this, you will not lose anything, but you will support my labors. Mutual benefit - the best form of gratitude!

❤️ In the Referral code field, you can enter my code: 42957

To apply, you need a media resource with at least 500 subscribers. And it does not necessarily have to be dedicated to cryptocurrency.

It can be a YouTube channel, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or a website— any platform where you have activity, views, and subscribers.

The topic is preferably about cryptocurrency, but it is not necessary. For example, my friend indicated his gamer YouTube/Twitch channel and got approval to participate in the affiliate program.

If you do not have your own audience, you can start attracting users through the exchange's referral program, create the first content about cryptocurrency and, let's say, after a month, once you have existing content and subscribers, apply for the affiliate program.

After you apply, you will usually receive a response within 3 days. If you are approved, you will receive a notification to your email linked to your Bybit account and access to your partner's personal account.

There you will find your affiliate link, as well as dashboards with statistics and analytics on all invited users.

Also, you will be assigned an affiliate manager to whom you can always personally contact with questions about the affiliate program. You can find his contact in the left menu of the affiliate cabinet.

Why did I choose Bybit?

First of all, it is one of the top 3 exchanges in the world and has already earned the trust of millions of users.

Secondly, it has a high affiliate rate: 35% of all commissions paid by invited users, which is higher than on Binance or OKX.

Thirdly, it is much easier to attract new users here than, for example, on Binance, because most people interested in crypto already have an account there.

At the same time, no one prevents you from promoting other popular exchanges as part of your strategy and diversification.

For example, interesting and reliable exchanges for your strategy can be:

  1. OKX (regular link / ref link with bonus)

  2. Binance (regular link / ref link with bonus)

  3. Bitget (regular link / ref link with bonus)

Disclaimer: Some links in this post are referral links. By using them, you may receive a welcome bonus, and I may also earn a small reward as part of the referral program.

Final thoughts

Let's go over the key theses from the article at the end:

  1. It is not too late to start now; it is the right time. Now the crypto market is growing again, interest in it is vast, and you can build a stable source of passive income on it.
  2. Even one successful video can bring profit for years. The main thing is to create content for a “hot” audience that is already looking for where to register and how to start trading.
  3. The YouTube format works best: training videos and guides convert better than any news. And a couple of videos can be life-changing.
  4. No investment is needed. One media resource with 500 subscribers is enough to start. Content can be created independently, with only your time required.

So start creating your additional source of passive income, everything is in your hands! Now is a really great time to get started. Wishing everyone kindness and good luck!
