Schizophrenia is the psychotic disorder that’s defined by losing control over your reality. It affects 1% of the population, 1.5% of U.S. and 1.4% of Canada. Nearly half of people suffering from schizophrenia abuse drugs and alcohol. 0.216% of American population died from overdoses from 1999–2017 (with a noticeable trend upwards in deaths/year) Nearly 5 million people were diagnosed with it this year, and 105 million people around the world.
