However, like all major changes and opportunities, it also comes with several challenges. The possibility to print spare parts on demand may extend guarantees and therefore allow companies to be more ecological. 3D printing at company level would imply hiring or upskilling employees, starting from engineers to operations, and it will represent a significant cost for companies that have invested in traditional plastic mould technology.
