TL;DR —
At least 2 out of 5 eligible voters don't vote in U.S. presidential elections. If all the people who didn't vote, voted for one candidate, that candidate would win every year. John Bolton recently said he'd be voting for neither Trump or Biden in 2020. The current level of voter turnout in the last 50ish years, 49-58% is not the level of a healthy democracy IMHO. The Downvote is Democratic - but that's a whole other can of worms, I'm simply arguing that the downvote could move voter turnout upwards.
