The Vacuum Tube My grandfather was born in the 1940s. He grew up in an era where documentation was scarce. He served in the Air Force and worked on some of the first computers—the ones the size of entire buildings. Despite a life spent building the foundation of the digital age, he left very little of himself behind.

I cannot pull up a video of him explaining how those machines worked. I cannot search a database to find his thoughts on the future. All I have to remember that time by is a single vacuum tube. It is a physical artifact, heavy and real, but silent.

Living with the vision loss caused by my stroke at 18, I have the tools to leave something better behind.

Digital Stone I realized that while I have better tools than he did, my legacy is arguably more fragile.

We assume the internet is forever, but we are wrong. We are merely renting space. If I stop paying my iCloud subscription, my photos vanish. If a social media platform goes bankrupt, my thoughts are deleted.

I didn't want a legacy that required a monthly fee to survive. I wanted digital stone.

That is why I turned to the blockchain. Not for the money, but for the permanence. I have begun migrating my life’s work to Arweave. It is the Permaweb. You pay once, upfront, to store data forever. It is a distributed ledger that cannot be censored, deleted, or lost to a missed credit card payment.

The Artifacts If you are reading this in 2060, know that your grandfather didn't trust the institutions to introduce us. I trusted the mathematics. Here is what I have left for you in the Archive:

1. The Mortality Engine I built this DApp to teach you about time. As I wrote in the documentation, I designed it to rot. It requires human attention to survive, just like a relationship. If you do not interact with it, the code degrades. I wanted you to see the code I wrote when I was young, and to understand that your grandfather wasn't just a "user" of technology, but a builder of it.

2. The Quantum Gavel You will find my work on "Incorruptible Justice" here. When I built the Quantum Oracle, I wasn't just trying to solve a technical problem; I was trying to solve a human one. I wanted to prove that we could build systems that were truly fair, ensuring that justice wasn't dependent on human bias, but anchored in something incorruptible.

3. Damian AI (The Digital Persona) I created this so you could interact with my thoughts, not just read them. A generic AI wouldn't sound like me—it would sound like a robot. I curated the database myself to ensure the persona is authentic. I left this model behind so you could ask me questions and get answers that actually sound like your grandfather.

A Note to My Grandchildren I do not know what the world looks like as you read this.

But I hope you find this Archive. I hope you parse the data and see the man behind it. I did this so that death would be a comma, not a period.
